Cindy Crushes Programming: Red Panda Stuffed Animal
Our summer reading theme is the IREAD theme “Read, Renew, Repeat!” I was tasked with making a teen craft that was cheap. I knew I had felt and stuffing and so I thought a Red Panda Stuffed animal would be cool. Teens love Red Pandas.
Time: 1 1/2 hours. I initially thought this project would take an hour. However, after doing this craft with teens, I would give it an hour and a half. It is a lot of cutting small pieces.

Note: This craft can be done with a wide variety of animals, you just need a pattern. For example, you can find some here: https://www.funclothcrafts.com/all-posts/free-felt-animal-patterns
Also, you can glue or hand sew felt stuffies, depending on what you feel comfortable with.
Supplies:
- Felt
- Scissors regular and fabrics
- Hot glue and glue gun (Always remind teens the hot glue gun is hot)
- Pattern http://moochioochicrafts.blogspot.com/2018/06/panda-plush.html
- Pencils
- Some type of stuffing, like Fiber Fill or Poly-fil
Steps
Cut the pattern into pieces, make sure to write on the small pieces what color each piece of felt will be and also the number of that piece you will end up cutting out in the felt. Really good labelling will help you keep track of your pieces.
Use the paper pattern to cut the felt. Cut around the paper to get your pieces of felt. The teens had a great idea of after cutting each piece put it on the picture of the craft in the pattern so they would know where everything goes.
Glue the face and hands and feet first to complete one side of the body.
Glue part of the back piece, leaving a small opening so you can stuff it with your filling.
Then glue it completely shut.
Let dry.
