Cindy Crushes Programming: Gilded Insects Taxidermy
I had seen this craft on Pinterest and wanted to do it at the library for awhile. It was cute and very simple. Also, who doesn’t like bugs!
Supplies
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
- Plastic insects
- Black Paint
- Gold Acrylic Paint
- Wooden Slides (An example here)
For a tutorial, you can visit here: https://thegatheredhome.com/diy-gilded-insect-plaques/
Steps
Step 1: Paint the insects
Paint the insect first and try to paint its underside first then the rest. The underside does not need to be perfect since it is mostly covered. You need Acrylic paint. I had gold paint and it was Tempera and it did not work on my example so I made sure to get Acrylic.
2. Paint the wooden slide black
3. Wait for everything to dry.
4. Hot Glue the insect to the wooden slide.
Final Thoughts: I loved this craft so simple and fun. Easy. Great for all ages.
