Cindy Crushes Programming: Upcoming Popular Events to be prepared for with programing and displays
There are several big pop culture moments coming up that would be great for teen programming tie ins. Below are just a few with their release dates.
Five Nights at Freddy’s movie releases October 27, 2023
This video game has stayed popular and the Young Adult books we have at the library are always going out. I plan on doing an in person escape room in October since the movie releases October 27, 2023. Escape Rooms continue to be a big draw for us and I enjoy making them.
Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes releases November 17, 2023
It is prime Hunger Game season again. The Hunger Games is huge on Tiktok and since the trailer released for the new film we are having trouble keeping the book in stock at the library. We plan on doing an escape room and various Hunger Game related crafts. We also have a virtual escape room we plan on promoting that month which is very popular. You can also find older Hunger Games programming ideas here: https://teenlibrariantoolbox.com/2011/07/19/feed-their-hunger-for-the-hunger-games/

Barbie Movie releases on July 21, 2023
This looks to be a huge film and there are so many ideas you can do with display or make a Barbie history Program. Barbie just made history releasing the first Barbie with Downs Syndrome. There is a lot going on in the world of Barbie.
The Little Mermaid releases on May 26, 2023
We plan on doing a month of mermaid crafts at White Oak Library District including mermaid sensory jars, mermaid hair clips, mermaid necklaces. So much fun and you can put all your Disney books on display. You could also make mermaid hair clips, which were outlined here: https://teenlibrariantoolbox.com/2020/02/19/cindy-crushes-programming-mermaid-hair-clips/
What are you looking forward to programming about in the future? Or making a cool Display about?
