Great Reads Delivered: Neither Wind, Nor Rain, Nor Sleet or Snow – a YA lit cover gallery

November 29, 2022 by Karen Jensen, MLS   Leave a Comment

We’re always looking for new, creative ways to promote books to readers. Sometimes, it can be pretty straightforward: here are a bunch of books with dragons, for example. Other times, it can be more creative. I was recently sitting in my office, which was freezing, and I thought to myself: what if we promoted books based on nothing more than the weather depicted on the cover? Don’t get me wrong, I know this is not a new or especially creative idea. Who among us hasn’t done a winter display of books with snow on the cover? But I thought I would do something more temperature gauge related. Side note: it turns out it is hard to find a clip art graphic of a thermometer that teens won’t look at and immediately go, that’s pretty phallic giggle giggle. So today I present to you a look at some books that go from cold to hot, based on the cover only, not necessarily content. All the normal caveats apply: this is not an exhuastive list, by any means, so please feel free to add your suggestions in the comments.
