Three Dark Crowns is my favorite book of the year! Matriarchal society, triplets born to be queen but only one can rule, magical abilities. It is EVERYTHING.
Followed closely by As I Descended which is Macbeth but significantly more awesome and also queer.

The Teen read and LOVED this book. She was so upset to learn how long she would have to wait for the next book in the series!
