Middle School Monday – Keep Your Eyes Peeled
Kind of a gross expression, no? Perfectly suited to Middle School.
So I saw this tweet earlier in the week, and it reminded me that there are several upcoming middle grade novels I’m excitedly waiting for:
You guys. I CAN. NOT. WAIT. Rachel Hawkins is one of my favorite authors for YA, and she is writing a MG novel. So far, this is actually all I know about it. Do I care? No. It will be awesome. It must be awesome.
And this reminded me that when I spoke with Leila Sales last week as part of the Fierce Reads tour, she was excitedly showing everyone the beautiful cover for her forthcoming Middle Grade novel, Once Was A Time:

With a publication date set for March 15, 2016, I am very much looking forward to this first Middle Grade from a prominent YA author. The two main characters, Charlotte and Kitty are best friends in the England of 1940, when they are torn apart as one of them time travels. Oh friendship, oh heartbreak!
And finally, I’m really excited for one I’ve actually read, The Girl In the Well is Me by Karen Rivers:
I was lucky enough to get my hands on a manuscript, and it reminds me of nothing more than Libba Bray’s Going Bovine – but in a very middle school way. And that’s all you’re going to get out of me right now – my lips are sealed (also a very middle school appropriate phrase.)
