Book Review: Confessions of a Murder Suspect by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro
The Angel family is not your typical family. Not even your typical millionaire family. Michael and Maud Angel are the parents of four children. The oldest, a famous football player who can’t stand his mom and dad, two younger sons, one who can play the piano better than Mozart, and the other whose biggest hero wrestles people to bloody unconsciousness for a living. And a exceptionally bright daughter. All of which are rightly deemed geniuses. In the world of Angels, not everything is happy-go-lucky. It’s not even just plain happy. Because in the middle of the night, the parents of the Angel children are murdered.
The police and medical examiners arrive, practically busting down the Angel’s front door. The children should be cared for right? Held and hugged and told that it’s going to be okay…Only that’s not the case.
The police find no source of forced entry.
Grudges against the Angel family number probably in the hundreds.
And the only people inside the apartment during the murder are the children.
Did they kill their parents? For lack of love? Hatred for the harsh punishments and tests dealt to them to craft perfect Angel children? Michael and Maud’s daughter, Tandy Angel, will find out the truth. No matter who did it. Even if it turns out to be her.
Oh James Patterson. You can craft gold with your words, sir. With the help of Maxine Paetro, Patterson crafts a great book, sizing up with its sisters in the Maximum Ride series. Both strong, fearless, and kick butt heroines with tinges of the witty sarcasm that we love and crave in Patterson’s novels. And just like Max, Tandy is here to state her claim, never recognizing “no” as an answer, as an all knew, sleuthing, in your face, teenage detective.
With all the twists and turns you could ever want, Confessions of a Murder Suspect takes the cake, mastering the perfect who-done-it mystery novel. Believe me, you won’t know who did it till the last pages. Any fan of Maximum Ride or mystery books should pick this gem up, seeing as it’s got 4 ½ stars on the Keep-Cuyler-Awake-till-3am-O-Meter.
