Meet the New Kids on the Blog

June 20, 2012 by Karen Jensen, MLS   Leave a Comment

Stephanie Wilkes, co-blogger extraordinaire, and I are happy to announce that we have two new regularly contributing members here at TLT.  So we go from three . . .

Karen Jensen, MLS   Teen Reviewer Cuyler Creech   Stephanie Wilkes, MLIS

to six.

They bring lots of experience and some unique points of view to add to our little blog here. So, drumroll please . . .

Meet Karen DeWysockie

Hello everyone! I am Karen DeWysockie from Books Beside My Bed and I will be covering manga and graphic novels for Teen Librarian’s Toolbox. I am a youth librarian in search of a library and love blogging about books. I currently work at an academic library but that doesn’t stop me from reading and enjoying picture books and YA! Especially all the graphic novels and manga I can find!
Meet Heather Booth
Heather Booth is the (wicked cool) Teen Librarian at Thomas Ford Memorial Library. She is also the author of Serving Teens Through Reader’s Advisory (ALA Editions, 2007). Heather also started the Teen Programming in Libraries (a collaborative board) on Pinterest. You’ll want to check there for more great teen programming ideas.  Heather also put together the very awesome Live Angry Birds Teen Program in a Box, which I have done twice now and highly recommend.  And tomorrow she is presenting you with her Slurpee Challenge.

Meet Chris Dahl

Reviewer Chris Dahl is a life-long resident of the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He has aspirations of world domination, but lacks the resources, ambition, and over-all managerial style to accomplish his goals. Anyone who believes that “still waters run deep” has never met Chris. He believes that there IS crying in baseball and blubbers like a baby every time he watches “Field of Dreams.” He has never been in a fist-fight, but has almost bowled a perfect game. In addition to reading he enjoys getting sun-burned and the occasional rant about how nobody listens to good music anymore. To the best of our knowledge, he is not in any way related to Roald Dahl, but we think it would be cool if he was.
So be on the lookout for posts, updates, book reviews and more.  And take a moment to say “hi” in the comments.
