What an awesome idea! It looks like all of your prep and planning totally paid off. And finding out about that Pinterest board just completely made my day!

What a great program! I wish I had a big enough room to do a full-scale version, but I'm planning the mini pom-pom one for Summer. Thanks for your post and all the tips!

I did this for International Games Day leaving it open for all ages and mostly younger kids (3-10 year olds) and their families showed up – around 25 families! I have saved the boxes and birds and hope to repeat the program with teens. We used a staff members water balloon sling shot and it worked out pretty well. We had Wii games/board games and an angry bird bookmark craft as well so the line for the live angry bird game never was too long.

we did this at my library. i couldn't resist building catapults, though. 🙂 also, i had a bit of a budget, so we purchased the plush 4″ dolls. for targets, we stacked solo cups (which make a delightful *krishing* sound when they fall). teens, tweens, even school-age kiddos love this. we also have the pom-pom craft or make your own catapult craft (for teens) at the same time.

I've been wanting to try this for a year or so at my library. It's on my to-do list for teens this summer. My friend made her piggies out of toiler paper. She simply covered a full roll in lime green tissue paper and decorated.
